Oh how I love thee

I just am absolutely in love with lollipop workshop cake toppers. I have seen them on various bakers blogs and on www.etsy.com of course, and that is where I got my wedding cake topper. When I was planning my wedding I didn't even really care what my cake topper would look like, but then once I found lollipop workshops lollidolls I HAD to have mine! They of course made it custom to how Brent & I look. Since I adore cupcakes in every way shape and form I had to have cupcakes placed at our feet! I have such a good husband to not care about stuff like that. We have been married almost 6 months now and I still have it sitting on a shelf in our bedroom. I smile every time I pass it! I need to buy a glass dome to put over it so I can keep it forever!

I just cannot get over how cute this is! I would recommend lollipop workshop too ANYONE and EVERYONE!!!!

I would like to thank

My internship is over so I made all of the ladies that were helpful to me over the whole semester these cake pop pots as a thank you! I have made cake pops from bakerella.com before and LOVE them, so this time I made strawberry and lemon ones. They were really good, I would have to say the strawberry were the best! Tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry....mmm...!!!

It's about time

So I finally have posted the pitures of the delicious cupcakes I made for Brent's birthday! I would definitely suggest anyone making these, plus I am not a big cheesecake fan and I even loved these!

These a before I iced them, I did not realize how much room the cheesecake batter would take. I wouldn't fill the cups up with as much of either batter.

I feel the NEED...the need for BAKING

So I am tired of being a student and VERY ready to bake all the time! I mean how CUTE are these cupcakes? I sit on the computer all day and look at recipes and come up with ideas to bake and then by the time I get home I just don't have the energy to bake anything! I should have gone to culinary school. Haha. Actually no, I wouldn't ever make it. I want to make Brent these golf cupcakes too! I am so excited for summer, I am hoping to have more time to bake. Also, Brent is out of town and because of that I don't get to cook. I don't get to cook once during the week in April, at least when he is home over the weekend's I can cook. Even for lunch I have started cooking smaller things. Like Sunday we were doing yard work and painting all day and I made us these chcicken strips! Mmmmm they were good, super easy too! Just sprayed a pan with cooking spray, sprinkled red pepper flakes, garlic powder, minced garlic, and grated colby cheese on it. Oh my gosh I loved them. I belong in the kitchen.

I want these

How cute and awesome are these?! I really want to get them, but they are almost too cute to put in my ears! I read some comments about them on the website I found them on and I guess they aren't available in North America yet. Sad. I will definitely be the first to buy them though!! In other news....

I bought What's New Cupcake!!!

What's New Cupcake

I have the first cookbook by the same authors, Hello Cupcake..I have to say What's New Cupcake looks so fun! I can't wait to dig in and start baking things out of it. There is something that looks so cute and you melt jolly ranchers in a metal shaped cookie cutter and it is just too cute! I am going to do that this week. I am going to my Kitchens store in the mall because they have a massive amount of metal cookie cutters, I just don't know what shape yet.

Lastly, I made Brent his chocolate cupcakes filled with cheesecake! OH MY GOSH! They were absolutely to die for!!! PLEASE check out the recipe from www.visionsofsugarplums.com
Now that I am getting married and now my cousin is getting married one month before me I can't eat cupcakes, just make them. Until my next post...

Not too good at this

So I have officially spent an hour and a half learning how to use blogger better. I mean I know how to post a blog and change the font colors, but this html stuff is beyond me. I don't understand how to make links on my page, how people have on the side you can click a picture and it leads you to where the recipe is on their blog. I hope to learn all of that stuff, but I don't know. When myspace was the it social networking site I had a better understanding of html, but now that it has been a few years since then I didn't retain any of it. Oh well, at least I still have the kitchen to cook and bake in. I plan on baking tomorrow. Emily from visionsofsugarplums.com has a cupcake recipe I am dying to try. A chocolate cupcake with a cheesecake filling, I hope it goes well! They are for Brent's birthday. His birthday was yesterday, but he is out of town for work all week so we are celebrating this weekend. I know I don't have any followers yet...BUT when I do if you have any html advice PLEASE let me know! Thanks ♥Andrea

Big cupcake

For my birthday Brent bought me a big cupcake cake mold, and I haven't been able to use it since I have been busy with school, an internship at the hospital, and planning the wedding, but since I am on spring break I decided to make one. It didn't turn out as well as what I had hoped. It wasn't AWFUL, but it definitely wasn't what I was hoping. The cake is difficult to ice, but I am determined to master the icing of this big cupcake!! I will post some pictures soon of my first big cupcake I did last night, and then in the future I will post more pictures as I become better at decorating this thing.
On a different note I made a recipe, while my big cupcake was baking, of fondant that does NOT require gum paste. I was pretty excited that this will work for fondant and all of the ingredients can be bought at any grocery store where you buy any other baking products. I am not completely sure on my measurements though, because I made it fast, so once I master what the measurements are I will be happier. I haven't done that much with fondant, but I have always wanted to get better at it. I was going to cover my big cupcake with fondant, but it was TOO hard since I am not that good with it yet, so I decided to master just a round cake before I try something with so many details.
I am very ready for the semester to be over so I can start baking ALL the time.
